Five Hands Studio offers private music lessons - one to one with a degreed teacher. Under certain circumstances, we also feature introductory group lessons as well.  But most students prefer the focused concentration of an individual one on one lesson.  It is necessary to master the advanced techniques of an instrument or voice with individual attention. We only teach lessons at our studio, which is a dedicated learning environment - to avoid the distractions that unavoidably occur in students’ homes.  We have separate studio rooms and a waiting area with wi-fi and an iMac computer lab.

Different students require different teaching approaches and proceed at their own pace. Some students progress best with a firmly structured and comprehensive curriculum.  Some have more of an opinion about what musical area they would like to specialize in.  Make sure that your student has the option to select the learning style that is best suited for them. We offer 30 minute, 45 minute and 1 hour lessons for private lessons and, for certain beginning students, 45 minute group lessons. 

Our music teachers have university training in the instruments that they teach. We teach students from beginners to very advanced and we’re conveniently located in downtown Skokie.
